With more than 10 years experience as a lawyer, I hold myself out as one of a handful of practicing attorneys in South Africa who not only fully understands the dynamics of the information technology industry, but who also has extensive experience within this industry having been the legal consultant for one of South AfricaÕs largest IT Companies. I have substantial experience in and exposure to the Computer Technology Law, Business Law and Intellectual Property Law in South Africa and abroad. Amongst others, I have advised, commented on and/or drafted agreements (some of which are set out below) for my clients to be used locally and in foreign countries (such as Canada, the USA, Germany, UK, Belgium, Russia, Australia and the Middle East). In pursuit of professional excellence I offer my clients, a boutique practice which renders a comprehensive service, enhanced through various strategic alliances that I have with other professionals who are also considered to be specialists in their respective fields of expertise. My bi-monthly newsletter ensures that my clients are kept abreast of developments in the legal environment. In 1998 the book "Butterworths Forms and Precedents", to which I was a co-author, in respect of computer contracts, was published. This is currently the most esteemed and widely used publication for professionals, it is a reference guide and it supplies examples of certain information technology agreements, often referred to as the industry "bench mark". I am a registered participant of "Work Group 9" which has been providing the Department of Communication of the Government of South Africa with commentary and advice on proposed legislation that will regulate e-commerce in South Africa in the future. Since commencing practice as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1991, I have been and I am still committed to providing value-adding, cutting edge legal advice and service to my clients through focussing on client specific requirements, innovative applications of legal concepts, high ethical standards, global interaction and attention to detail.
